The Kelowna Flying Club is pleased to announce that our self-serve fuel facility providing 100LL Avgas is now fully operational and available for use by both Club members and the general aviation community. This is a new service provided by the Club and we look forward to meeting the aviation community's avgas requirements.
The Club obtained regulatory approval to initiate fueling operations following delivery and commissioning of our fuel tank and delivery systems in late November 2025. Throughout the soft launch phase, Club volunteers worked closely with our third-party vendors to ensure a safe and reliable implementation of the fuel services program. Issues related to kiosk software have been addressed and fuel delivery systems have been optimized in partnership with our tank supplier.
Our 50,000-litre tank is temporarily located on Apron 3, where it will remain until completion of the designated general aviation parking area on the airport's northeast corner. The relocation of GA parking to the northeast corner is scheduled for summer 2026.
Our initial pricing for fuel includes a seven cents ($.07) per litre airport levy and vendor fees for a total of $1.85 a litre. An additional five percent (5%) GST is added to the final sale. Our kiosk currently accepts Visa, Matercard and Interac payments. A modest member discount is available to active members and will be reassessed as the program progresses.
Information regarding operations of the self-serve fuel facility is available online at https://www.kelownaflyingclub.org/Fuelling-Procedure.
Questions or comments regarding the program may be directed to KFCfuel@kelownaflyingclub.org.
The launch of self-serve fuel services marks an exciting milestone for our Club and we look forward to meeting the Avgas needs of the aviation community for years to come.
Best regards,
Kent Hardisty, President Kelowna Flying Club
