Spring may have arrived
It has been a wet spring so far but things are looking up. There have been several fly-in events of interest so far.
Cache Creek Annual Airport Appreciation Day was a great success with fabulous weather and a hearty breakfast. A number of air performers were on hand to offer the crowds a treat.
Last
weekend the first Quesnel Skyfest day was held. Over 5000
attended the Saturday event with a full air show from Noon to 16:30.
The talent included the always entertaining Granley father and son
acts in there Yak's.
Also last weekend on Sunday we hosted our first fly-in breakfast at the Kamloops Flying Club. A number of planes descended on Fulton Field with about 50 served. Attendees arrived from a variety of locations including Prince George and Kelowna.
Another adventure is being organized by John Lovelace to explore the Yukon area. Check out the site CrossCanadaFlight.com for more details. It will be a great adventure.
Our scheduled fly-in/out events have been organized for the year.. Check the Flying Events page for the next events. It's sure to be entertaining.
We need more members. There are quite a few aviators in the Kamloops area... participate and make the club a useful and enjoyable addition to your flying experiences..
Recently the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association has finalized a program to replace the Young Eagles program promoted through the Experimental Aircraft Association. It essentially replaces the Young Eagles program with an emphasis to promote general aviation to kids between the ages of 7 and 17 years. The event is free and offered as a service to the community.
The Kamloops Flying Club will be participating in this program and will soon be finalizing a date for a Spring COPA for Kids event.
